Over the years TV cartoons have modified. As Disney was refashioned and new technology was invented to make more advanced movies, the cartoons evolved as well except instead of becoming more advanced and exciting like the movies they did just the opposite. In my opinion they diminished from interesting, enjoyable and entertaining to pointless. What happened to the Loony Tunes? On some channels, they may still show some agreeable cartoons such as Scooby-Doo, and sometimes they have some Loony Tunes but not the best.

When our parents were kids, Loony Tunes were popular cartoons on the TV. Nowadays those cartoons can no longer be found on the TV channels. Instead, they contain less interesting cartoons such as SpongeBob. I believe this cartoon to be pointless and disappointing. I’m not excited to watch a talking sponge wander around under the sea. He lives in the sea so I assume he is supposed to be a sea sponge but he appears to be a cleaning sponge to me. And why does he wear pants? I know it is just a cartoon but it isn’t realistic enough to be of interest to me. Even Scooby-Doo cartoons are changed from the way they used to be. New characters were added to the show and another show was created with all the characters as kids. As the series is drawn out, it loses its touch and becomes less fascinating. With all the new technology I would think that people would make cartoons with realistic characters but instead they make them look more pathetic. It seems that people don’t concentrate as much on the cartoons as they used to. Movies become increasingly popular and attract all the attention so nothing is left for the cartoons, or so it would seem. The cartoons of old were exciting and amusing to watch, especially the Loony Tunes. Impossible and hilarious stunts were performed throughout the whole cartoon keeping you laughing continuously. All the animals were animated, of course, but they seemed less cartoonish than the characters from cartoons today. I feel a bit downbeat that many of the decent cartoons from only a generation ago can no longer be enjoyed by children looking for entertainment on the television.

I loved the old cartoons. However, I do like movies like Toy Story and My Little Mermaid.
